President, PM mourns death of Syed Ashraf's wife

Secretariat Correspondent: President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday expressed deep shock at the death of Shila Islam, wife of Public Administration Minister and Awami League Presidium Member Syed Ashraful Islam.

"In a condolence message, the President prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family."

Prime minister Sheikh Hasina also expressed profound shock at the death of Shila Islam.

Shila Islam, who had been suffering from cancer, breathed her last at the UCLH University College Hospital in London this morning. She was 57.
