President invites Hasina to form new govt

Secretariat Correspondent: President Abdul Hamid invited Awami League President Sheikh Hasina to form the new government as she has gained the confidence of the majority of the members of the 11^th Parliament.

The president made the invitation to the current Premier Sheikh Hasina after she went to meet him at the Bangabhaban on Thursday afternoon.

Press Secretary to the president Joynal Abedin came up with the information.

This is the very first meeting of the Prime Minister with the President after Awami League’s landslide victory in the 11^th parliamentary election held on December 30.
