Price of green chilli falls as supply improves

Staff Correspondent: Price of green chili has come down because of steady supply at the city's kitchen markets.

Green chilli was sold at Tk 200 a kg at retail shops of different markets across the city on Thursday. But, the price is now Tk 100-120 a kg on Friday.

Traders said that vegetable laden vehicles could not enter into capital due to Eid vacation. That’s why the supply was less than expectation. So, the price was much higher. But, the supply becomes normal now. Ultimately, the impaction was seen in city's kitchen markets.

One kilogram of Bitter Gourd was selling at Tk 25, Tomato at Tk 100, Long bean at Tk50, Gourd Tk 30-40, patol at Tk 40, cucumber at Tk 40 at Jatrabari market.
