Prize giving ceremony of Walton-The Independent held

Sports Correspondent: The prize giving ceremony of Walton- The Independent FIFA World Cup 2018 quiz competition was held at Beximco Media Complex in the capital on Sunday.

The Independent Executive Editor Shamim Abdullah Zahedy, Humayun Kabir, executive director of Walton Group along with senior executives of The Independent handed over the prizes to the winners.



Md Shajjad Hossain, chief financial officer of the Beximco Media, Md Shahed Siddique, chief report of The Independent, Md Manzuul Haque, sports editor, Md Zaglul Haider Shahed, head of sales & marketing and Md Shafiul Alam, head of support service of the Beximco Media, were also present during the prize giving ceremony.

The quiz competition was held in two phases during the FIFA World Cup. A total of 19, 545 coupons were dropped for the first phase with 12,663 correct answers. The Independent received a total of 34,830 coupons in the second phase from their valued readers, of which 25,785 were correct answers.



Nasima of Dhaka and Sajib of Rangpur became the lucky winners of first prize of the first and second phase respective.

4th Prize (Walton Blender-5): 1 Soyeb Khan,  Dhaka; 2. Limon, Dhaka, 3. Jenat, Comilla; 4. Abdullah Al Mamun, Dhaka; 5. Tisham, Dhaka.

5th Prize (Walton Rice Cooker-5): 1  M.M. Begum, Chittagong; 2.  Farid, Lakmipur; 3. Abdul Kader, Dhaka; 4. Zafrul Sadik, Dhaka, 5. Sajib, Rangpur.



Second Phase:

1st Prize (Walton 43" LED TV ): Sajib,  Rangpur

2nd Prize (Walton Refrigerator 12.5 CFT): Md. Shaheen, Comilla

3rd Prize (Walton Microwave Oven): Rahul Sen, Chittagong
