Probe body formed over raft falling down of Akash Beena

Staff Correspondent: A probe body has been formed over raft falling down of emergency exit door of Akash Beena, the country's first Dreamliner 787-8.

Steps will be taken once the probe committee submits report in this regard, according to responsible officials.

Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister AKM Shahjahan Kamal told media that the it is being investigated into raft falling down of Akash Beena to uncover the mystery behind the incident. Steps will be taken if someone is found guilty in the incident.

Meanwhile Mohibul Haque, secretary to the civil aviation ministry, on Wednesday said, “The incident occurred due to pressing wrong button. Biman Bangladesh Airlines formed a probe body to investigate into the incident. Details will be revealed after the investigation.”

In reply to a query, the secretary said, “Raft could not be used again once it is opened. It is one-time useable. We came to know primarily that someone named Mostafizur Rahman pressed the button mistakenly.”

Officials concerned the airport, Akash Beena’s raft fell down at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on the eve of its flying to Singapore on Tuesday.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina launched the much-hyped Dreamliner on September 5.
