Probe body formed over report titled ‘Selling GPA 5’

Staff Correspondent: Education Ministry has formed a four-member probe committee to investigate the allegation of some irregularities in HSC results in response to a news report titled ‘Selling GPA 5’, published on June 9 by a private satellite channel of Bangladesh.

The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education has issued a press release in this regard on Monday.

Additional Secretary of Secondary and Higher Education Department Md Mahamud-ul-Haq has been made the convener of the committee.

The other members of the committee are a professor of Computer Science and Engineering Department (CSE) of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) Yunus Ali, joint secretary of Secondary and Higher Education Division, Ahmad Shamim - Al Razi and Deputy Secretary, Abu Ali Md Sajjad Hossain.

The committee has been asked to submit the report within the next seven working days.

The report of Maasranga Television claimed that a deputy examination controller of Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board and a staff of the Board, including some educational institution heads of Uttara area were involved with the alleged irregularities.
