Probe body visits FR Tower

Staff Correspondent: The probe body formed by the Disaster Management and Relief Ministry has visited FR Tower of the capital’s Banani where a deadly fire broke out, killing 25 people.

Probe committee entered the high-rise building around 11:00am on Saturday.

Then, members of the probe body formed by Home Minister also entered the building.

The Disaster Management and Relief Ministry’s 7-member probe body led by additional secretary Foyzur Rahman includes representatives of BUET, Dhaka district administration, Fire Service, Police and Armed Force.

Foyzur Rahman told reporters that they visited 7th, 8th and 9th floor of the building and found the floors gutted. But they cannot immediately tell from where the fire ensued exactly. They also found fire hydrants of the walls were ineffective.
