Probe report against Pakistan army officer published

Staff Correspondent: The investigation agency of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) has published final report against a Bengali officer of the then Pakistan Army who had allegedly committed crimes against humanity during the 1971 Liberation War.

Coordinator of the agency Abdul Hannan Khan published the report at its Dhanmondi office in the capital on Tuesday. Investigation officer Sanaul Haque was present during the submission.

In the report, he said that the accused, Captain Mohammad Shahidullah, had been involved in three killings, confinement and torture of 13 people, and looting and arson of five houses in Daudkandi area of Comilla during the war.

On October 17 last year, the tribunal fixed today for submitting the probe report.

The 72-year-old accused has been in jail since his arrest on August 2, 2016.

The investigation against him was launched in October 2015 and completed on Monday.
