'Puja Mandaps to remain under CCTV surveillance'

Staff Correspondent: Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia said that Puja Mandaps will remain under CCTV surveillance.

The DMP Commissioner made the disclosure while addressing reporters after visiting Dhakeshwari Temple in the capital on Monday.

He said that Puja Mandaps will remain under CCTV surveillance and a monitoring cell of police will be opened.

Asaduzzaman Mia said, "A total of 231 Puja Mandaps have been setup this year. Tight security measures will be taken in all the temples including Dhakeshwari, Gulshan-Banani, Ramakrishna Mission and Dhanmondi."

He also said that devotees will have to enter the Puja mandaps though archway and their bodies will be searched before entering.
