Qawmi madrasa rally: 2 held with pepper spray in city

Staff Correspondent: Police detained two people with pepper spray from capital’s Suhrawardy Udyan on Sunday.

The detainees are identified as Abidur Rahman and Abdullah Mamun.

Shahbagh police station sources said that the law enforcers detained the duo around 9:00am when they tried to enter into rally venue of Qawmi madrasa at Suhrawardy Udyan.

However, Abul Hasan, officer-in-charge of Shahbagh Police Station denied any knowledge of the matter.

It is learnt that detective police found pepper spray from two people during searching people at entry gate of the Qawmi madrasa Mahfil. Later, they were sent to Shahbagh police station.
