Quader draws EC’s attention

Secretariat Correspondent: Awami League (AL) secretary general, also Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has drawn attention of the Election Commission (EC) over interviewing of BNP nomination seekers by the party’s acting chairperson Tarique Rahman, a fugitive after being sentenced in different cases, via video conference.

He said, “Firstly, I’m seeking justice to the nation. Secondly, I draw attention of EC whether a fugitive, who was sentenced in a case to seven years and in another case to life-term imprisonment, can participate in electoral process through video conferencing.”

AL secretary general told this to the reporters at Bangladesh Secretariat on Sunday.

According to media reports, BNP acting Chairman Tarique Rahman started interviews of the party’s nomination seekers for the 11th parliamentary election through a video conference on Sunday morning from London.
