Quota cancellation announcement tricky strategy: BNP

Senior Correspondent: BNP has termed the announcement of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina over quota reformation as tricky strategy.

The party said several types of tactics were taken by the government to stop the demonstrators.

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi came up with the opinion while addressing a press conference at the party office in Nayapaltan on Thursday noon.

He said, "The government did not consider the demand of general students in a fair mind. There is a clear provision over the quota system for the underprivileged people. The demonstrators did not oppose the quota for children of freedom fighters and physically challenged people. But, the announcement of government chief is contradictory to the constitution."

"The Prime Minister frustrated the whole nation. She talked over the quota cancellation without proper evaluation of the demand of protestors. It’s a tricky strategy," Rizvi said.
