R Madhavan thrown out of 'Fanney Khan' for his high demand!

Entertainment Desk: Before Rajkummar Rao came on board Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's Fanney Khan, R Madhavan was one of the top contenders to romance Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the film.

According to a report in DNA, Madhavan could not clinch the deal because of his remuneration.

Apparently, Madhavan had quoted a fee of Rs 1.5 crore for the film, which the makers did not want to shell out for a 15-day shoot. Rajkummar agreed to come on board at a lower price, which tilted the scales in his favour.

A source told the publication, "The real story is that Madhavan asked for a huge remuneration. He wanted Rs 1.5 crore for a 15-day shoot. And the makers felt that it was not justified. The plan is to make the film within a certain budget and the price quoted by Maddy didn't align with that. It was mutually decided he couldn't be part of the film and Rajkummar Rao was brought in immediately."

Apparently, Madhavan was not the only one in the running. From Akshay Oberoi to Kartik Aaryan, many names were being considered, but nothing worked out. At one point, Rakeysh decided to bring a fresh face on board, but Aishwarya was reportedly not okay with the idea.

Fanney Khan is the Hindi adaptation of the 2000 Dutch release, Everybody's Famous! The film also stars Anil Kapoor in a leading role.
