Staff Correspondent: At least seven people including a militant named Abdullah have been staying at the Mirpur militant hideout, RAB sources said.
They are militant Abdullah, his two wives, two children and two associates.
Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) have cordoned off a building at Mirpur Darus Salam Thana in the capital from early Tuesday, suspecting it to be a militant hideout.
Explosives have been thrown on the RAB men from inside the house, deputy commander of RAB’s legal and media wing Mufti Mahmud Khan said.
Abdullah has been asked to surrender to the law enforcing agencies.
Earlier, RAB detained two militants in a drive at a house in Mosinda area of Kalihati upazila under Tangail district.
They were detained at around 3.00pm on Monday. At that time, huge quantity of explosives, jihadi books and locals weapons were recovered from the house.
Based on the information given by the detainees, RAB members are conducting the raid in the capital’s Mirpur area.
