RCC polls: Directions issued not to transfer officials 

Staff Correspondent: Election Commission (EC) has issued letters to all the ministries and divisions ahead of the upcoming Rangpur City Corporation (RCC) polls.

Seeking assistance in the letter to arrange a fair and free polls in the city, EC has come up with the direction of not to transfer the officials for 15 days once the schedule was announced for the election.

The letter signed by Farhad Ahammed Khan, Joint Secretary of the Election Commission (EC), has already served to all the ministries and divisions.

According to the letter, voting in RCC polls will be held on December 21. To arrange a free and fair polls, EC will appoint some presiding officers, assistant presiding officers and polling officers from different government offices, autonomous bodies and private institutions of the area. Teachers from government and approved institutions will perform duties during the election. Magistrates and Law enforcers will also be deployed to keep law and order situation under control.

Besides, different institutions, establishments and premises of different organizations will be used as polling centers.
