Rab drive at Nakhalpara ‘militant hideout’

Staff Correspondent: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) are now conducting a raid at a suspected militant hideout at Nakhalpara in the capital.
The law enforcers cordoned off the six-storey building from Thursday midnight.
Sensing the presence of the Rab members, the militants fired bullets and hurled grenade at the law enforcers. Rab members also backed fire.
Bomb disposal units of the law enforcers reached the spot on Friday morning.
RAB Spokesman Commander Mufti Mahmud Khan said, “Acting on a tip-off, we condoned the six-storey building named ‘Ruby Villa’ around 2.00am.
“We had asked the militants to surrender but they did not.”
He said they militants opened fire at the RAB officials and also hurled grenades.
In retaliation, the elite force members fired back.
Mufti said, “Two of our officials were injured in the incident.”
