Rail link with Sylhet snapped

Staff Correspondent: The railway communications of Sylhet with other parts of the country has been suspended from Monday afternoon following a rail wagon derailment.

Sources said that a compartment of a goods laden train derailed in Majgaon rail station area of Fenchuganj around 4:00pm. As a result, the rail communication with was snapped with other part of the country.

Confirming the matter, Sylhet Railway Station Manager Abdur Razzak said a rescue train is heading towards the spot to restore the rail communication.

Dhaka-bound three trains were stuck in Sylhet station due to the derailment, he added.
