Rajshahi beat Sylhet by 7 wickets

Sports Desk: Rajshahi Kings beat Sylhet Sixers by seven wickets in the 17th Match of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka on Friday.

Being invited to bat first, Sylhet Sixers, thanks to Shabbir Rahman's 41 runs, managed to score 146 runs losing six wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

In chase, Rajshahi Kings scored 150 runs losing only three wickets with remaining 15 balls left.

Zakir Hossain (unbeaten) who hailed from Sylhet hit a brilliant half century for Rajshahi. He scored 51 runs off 26 balls with four fours and three sixes.

Mominul Haque Muminul Haque hit 42 runs off 36 balls which includes five fours and a six.

Rony Talukdar scored 24 runs from 22 balls with two fours and a six while Mushfiqur Rahim (wk) bagged 25 runs off 20 balls with three fours. Samit Patel patel scored only one run.

For Sylhet, Nasir Hossain, Nabil Samad and Abul Hasan each bagged one wicket.

Earlier for Sylhet, Shabbir Rahman scored 41 runs which includes four sixes and a four while Danushka Gunathilaka hit 40 runs off 37 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes.

Tim Bresnan (unbeaten) scored 29 off 17 balls while Upul Tharanga and Nurul Hasan (wk) each bagged 10 runs.

Andre Fletcher returned to the pavilion for duck and Captain Nasir Hossain scored nine runs off 11 balls.

Liam Plunkett (unbeaten) hit 6 runs off 2 balls while one run came from extra.

Rajshahi Kings' Kesrick Williams bagged two wickets while Mohammad Sami, Mehidy Hasan, James Franklin and Samit Patel each shared one wicket.
