Secretariat Correspondent: The government has set fresh office timings for government, semi-government and private institutes from 9.00am to 3:30pm during Ramadan.
There will be a 15-minute break from 1.15pm for Zohr prayers on all working days.
A cabinet meeting held on Monday with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair took the decision, said Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam.
‘The cabinet has approved the office hours from 9:00am to 3:30pm with a break of 15 minutes from 1:15pm for Zohr prayers for the month of Ramadan,’ he said.
However, the Supreme Court, banks and other financial institutions will set their own office hours, cabinet secretary also said.
The fasting month will begin from the last week of this month, subject to sighting of the moon.
At present, the government, semi-government, autonomous and semi-autonomous organisations remain open from 9:00am to 5:00pm with one-hour break for lunch and prayers.
