Rangamati hillock collapse kills 3

Bandarban Correspondent: At least three people were killed as a hillock collapsed on a house in College Gate area of Rangamati district town on Thursday.

The deceased were identified as Shamsul Alam, 50, and Kalu, 40 and Mohammad Hanif, 32. (all bangla newspaper)

The accident took place around 4:30pm. (news online)

Local sources said that the victims stuck under the land during a construction work in the area. Meanwhile, on information, fire service and army persons rushed to the spot and recovered the victims.

Later, the injured were taken to Rangamati Sadar Hospital where duty doctors declared them dead.

Following the incident, Rangamati deputy commissioner (DC) Mohammad Manzarul Mannan, Additional district administration (revenue) Prokash Kanti Chowdhury and others visited the spot.
