Rangpur farmer gets new car by buying fridge at installment

Economic Reporter: This time Titu Miah, a farmer of Garaber Village of Pirgonj Thana under Rangpur District, got a brand new car by purchasing a Walton brand refrigerator at installment.

A total of three customers- a member of Bangladesh Police Aradhan Chandra Shaha, a housewife of Chattogram District Shima Shill and a farmer of Rangpur District Titu Miah, have received brand new cars by purchasing and registering refrigerators from the inception of nationwide ‘Walton Eid Mega Digital Campaign’ on July 1, 2018. Under the campaign, customers are offered free brand new cars, motorcycles, fridge, air-conditioners and many other sorts of electronics and electrical appliances or sure cash-back on the purchase of Walton fridge, air-conditioners, televisions and electric fans from any Walton Plaza or distributor outlets. The offer can be enjoyed till the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha or Qurbani Eid.

On Wednesday last (August 8), Titu Miha purchased an11 cft refrigerator worth of Tk 26,700, a gas stove and a stabilizer from the Pirgonj branch of Walton Plaza. Among the total payments of his purchased items, Titu paid Tk 16,000 and the rest amount will be paid at three installments. Then, he registered the purchased refrigerator through sending SMS from his mobile phone. Few minutes later, he received a return SMS from Walton and was informed that he got a brand new car for the purchase and registration of a refrigerator of the local company.

While showing reaction, Titu Miah said, “Getting a new car from the purchase of Walton refrigerator at installment is seemed to be a dream. How much happy I am- could not be explained. While I read out the return SMS of getting brand new car, I became soundless and could not utter any word for a while. I have never seen the dream of having a car as I hardly manage my family expenses through farming.”

While showing the reason of buying a refrigerator, Titu Miah said that his 5-year old son is fond of ice-cream and thus he daily demanded it. As it is not possible for him to buy ice-cream daily for his son, he bought a refrigerator for meeting his son’s demand with the homemade ice-cream.

The car giving ceremony was attended, among others, by Md. Rezaul Karim, officer in-charge of Pirgonj Thana, Firoj Alam, first senior director of Walton Group, Rakibul Hossain Ahmed, deputy Dirctor of Walton, Milton Ahmed, senior assistant director of Walton, Razib Kumar Das, head of Walton Plaza Sales and Development Department-4 and Sujayet Hossain, manager of Pirgonj Walton Plaza.
