Razzak out of danger, returns home

Sports Desk: Former Bangladesh spinner Abdur Razzak and his family were injured in a road accident on their way to Dhaka after celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr in Bagerhat on Tuesday evening.

However, Razzak is currently out of danger and returned home on Tuesday midnight.

Abdur Razzak was driving a private carrying family members along with his wife and son.

He lost control over the steering and the car fell into a roadside ditch near Gopalganj's Bhatiaparha when a tyre punctured, leaving his son Adian seriously injured.

However, other family members sustained minor injuries.

Police along with locals rescued and rushed them a local hospital where they were given first aid. Later, they were referred to Khulna Medical College and Hospital.

Razzak's wife Ishrat Jahan Oni, 2-year old son Adian, a sister, and two nieces were in the car during the accident. However, they all are out of danger, according to family members.

Having made his international debut in 2004, Razzak played for the national team last time in 2014.

The bowler was an important cog in the Bangladesh’s spin bowling attack for a decade. He picked 207 wickets in 153 ODI matches. He also claimed 23 wickets in 12 Tests and 44 wickets in 34 T20Is.
