'Rebel candidates to be suspended from party'

Staff Correspondent, Tangail: Expressing warning to the party leaders and activists, Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader said violating party order, if anyone becomes rebel candidate in the upcoming national parliamentary polls, they will be suspended from the party.

Obaidul Quader made the declaration while addressing a rally at Tangail railway station around 11:00am on Saturday.

Earlier, he arrived at Gharinda Railway station in Tangail at 10:30am and addressed a street rally there.

The Awami League general secretary said, "Sheikh Hasina keeps her promises. Bring Awami League to power again casting votes for Boat in the upcoming election. There will be 100 percent development in the country."



Meanwhile, issuing a warning to party local leaders, he said, ‘Don’t try to build houses in a house...Sheikh Hasina’s action is direct action.’

He said, "Don't try to create chaotic situation. Action already has been started against the trouble makers. Show-cause notices will be issued against them within one or two days."

"If anyone betrays with the party in upcoming parliamentary elections, then the party will suspend them," he added.

Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader and other leaders started visiting different districts in the northern region by rail on Saturday morning.



Their journey began from Kamalapur rail station towards Nilphamari by Nilsagar Express train at 8.00am.

Quader is accompanied by AL leaders Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Dr Hasan Mahmud, Asim Kumar Ukil, Ahmed Hossain, BM Mozammel Haque, Abu Sayeed Al Mahmud Swapan, Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, Barrister Biplab Barua and Anwar Hossain.
