Report submission against Dr Zafrullah on Nov 14

Staff Correspondent: A Dhaka court has fixed November 14 to submit an investigation report against four people, including Gonoshasthya Kendra founder Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury, in a case filed over allegedly occupying a land.

Accepting the case documents, Dhaka Chief Judicial Magistrate Atiqul Islam passed the order on Tuesday.

Mohammad Ali, owner of the land, filed the case against Gonoshasthya Kendra founder Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury, registrar of Gono University Delwar Hossain, Gonoshasthya Kendra director Saiful Islam Sishir, and Aulad Hossain with Ashulia Police Station on Monday night.

According to the case documents, the accused have long been trying to occupy a 4.24-acare land, owned by Mohammad Ali, at Pathalia union under Ashulia thana. They threatened and put pressure on Mohammad Ali in a bid to grab the land, and demanded Tk 1 crore from him as extortion.
