Request of reconsidering decision of FF quota cancellation

Staff Correspondent: Freedom Fighters (FF) and their children have requested Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to reconsider her decision of abolishing FF quota she declared in the parliament.

Speakers also demanded exemplary punishment to those are involved in derogatory comments on social media from a protest rally in the capital.

The protest rally was arranged by Amra Muktijoddhar Sontan, the organisation of Freedom Fighters’ children, in front of the National Press on Friday.

Speakers said, “We know, after demise of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, only Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is sincere to Freedom Fighters and their families. The decision she took on the emerging situation was for greater interest of the nation. But, we want she will consider the decision. As the honour given to FF by Bangabandhu should not be taken away by his daughter’s hands. We believe she will not send us back with empty hands.”

They said, “The decision of cancelling quota system was not restored, the defeated quarters of 1971 will be winner. Because, it was their long cherished to degrade Freedom Fighters.”

They also announced to form human chain programme at cities and districts across the country on April 18 and 19.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina declared to abolish the quota system existing in the public services in the parliament session on Wednesday afternoon, amid strong protests across the country.
