Restrictions imposed for sake of security: IGP

Staff Correspondent: Inspector General of Police (IGP) AKM Shahidul Hoque said for the sake of security of people, some restrictions have been imposed centring 31^st Night to celebrate the New Year.

Legal action will be taken against those violating the rules imposed, he said.

The IGP said this while addressing a function in the capital on Sunday.

“Many untoward incidents are seen to happen on the night. Basically, such security measures have been taken considering this. Plainclothes police along with police in uniform are working to ensure security. We have just imposed some restrictions to ensure security”, Shahidul said.
