'Rice, wheat traders must take license this month'

Staff Correspondent: Food Minister Advocate Qamrul Islam said that the traders, who want to run rice and wheat business have to take license within this month.

The minister made the assertion while addressing reporters after a meeting at his secretariat office in the capital on Monday.

Qamrul Islam said that the interested traders who want to store rice or wheat over one tonne, they have to take their license within October 30.

He also said, "There is no shortage of rice in the country. The rice market is stable now."

"Some dishonest businessmen tried to create anarchy storing rice. But, the rice market became stable due to proper steps of the government," he added.
