Road crashes kill 362 in March

Senior Correspondent: Road crashes killed 12 people and injured 28 others on an average a day in the outgoing month of March across the country.
In March 2017, at least 362 people were killed and 865 others injured in 330 road crashes. Among the deceased, 49 were women while 54 were children.
The fatal accidents took place on the highways, national, inter-district and regional roads from March 1 to March 31across the country.
The national committee to Protect Shipping, Roads and Railways (NCPSRR), a non-government organisation, revealed the information in its regular monthly survey and observation report, according to a NCPSRR press release.
As result, the country witnessed a decreased number of accidents and causalities in the previous month in comparison with that of February in ongoing year.
According to the report, a total of 427 people including 56 women and 58 children lost lives and 1,094 others injured in 372 road crashes in February.
