Road march to Rajshahi if dialogue fails

Senior Correspondent: Jatiya Oikyafront (JOF) has announced a road march to Rajshahi on November 8 if the dialogue with PM set to be held on November 7 becomes unproductive.

The alliance also declared a long march programme to the Election Commission (EC) if it (EC) does not defer schedule announcement for the 11th general election.

BNP Secretary General, also spokesperson of JOF, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir came up with the programmes from a rally of Suhrawardy Udyan on Tuesday afternoon.

JOF arranged the rally demanding resignation of the government to hold the general election under a neutral government and release of all political prisoners.

Fakhrul said, “Jatiya Oikyafront (JOF) will hold dialogue with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on on Nov 7 (Wednesday). A road march will be made to Rajshahi on the following day (November), if the demands claimed by JOF are not met.”

He said, “They said they will stop arrest and harassment to the leaders and activists. But they are arresting thousands of leaders and activists. Even Today, a leader was also arrested.”

“All cases filed for conspiracies must have to be withdrawn. Otherwise, we will not accept it. We along with people resist it,” he added.

Fakhrul also announced to hold a rally in Rajshahi on November 9, the following day of road march to Rajshahi from Dhaka, if the demands are not met by the government.

“Rallies will also be held in Khulna, Barisal, Mymensingh and Cumilla. Long march will be made to EC if the schedule announcement is not deferred,” he added.
