Staff Correspondent: Golam Maula Roni will be able to participate in the upcoming national election from Patuakhali-3, as the Election Commission (EC) has declared his nomination paper valid.
An EC commission declared this after hearing on his appeal against the nomination rejection at the EC Secretariat on Thursday.
Aspirants whose nomination papers declared valid are Morshed Miltan from Bogura-7, Abu Ashfaque from Dhaka-1, Md Tamijuddin from Dhaka-20, Abdul Kaium Chowhury from Sylhet-3 and Hasanul Islam from Pabna-3.

The Election Commission (EC) started the mammoth task of disposing of 543 appeals against returning officers’ nomination rejections on Thursday morning.
According to the EC's plan, the full commission sit at the EC Secretariat at 10:00am to dispose of the first 160 appeals today. Tomorrow, it would decide on the next 233 and the fate of the remaining 150 would be decided on Saturday.
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's hearing is expected to be on Saturday.
