Rush of passengers at Gabtoli Bus Terminal

Staff Correspondent: Braving all sorts of odds like traffic congestion and harassment the city people in thousands started leaving capital Dhaka for their respective village homes to celebrate the Eid-ul-Fitr with their near and dear ones.

In capital Dhaka, the home-bound passengers are crowding railway stations and Sadarghat launch and Gabtoli, Sayedabad and Mohakhali inter-district bus terminals.
Dhaka city dwellers started leaving the city on Thursday afternoon, the last day of the government office.

During visit it was seen that from early Friday Gabtoli Bus Terminal was overflowing with thousands of people.

Eid-ul-Fitr, one of the biggest religious festivals for the Muslims, will be celebrated in the country either on 26 June (Monday) or 27 June (Tuesday) subject to the sighting of the Shawwal moon.

Around 70, 00, 000 people are expected to leave the city for enjoying Eid at their village homes. They will travel by trains, buses and launches until Sunday to reach their destinations.
