Sadarghat sees huge crowd

Staff Correspondent: Launch terminals in the capital witnessed a huge rush of home-goers on Friday as thousands of people set out for their village homes to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr.

City dwellers started leaving the city from Thursday afternoon as the day was the last office day before the Eid day. The home-bound people are leaving Dhaka avoiding hot weather and risk of overcrowded transports. 

Large crowd were seen hurriedly boarding water vessels to reach their destinations at different districts in the southern part of the country.

Bangladesh Inland Water Transport (BIWTA) authority said that many launches, all of them full with passengers, left the launch terminal.
