Sagar-Runi murder: Probe report submission deferred again

Staff Correspondent: A Dhaka court has again deferred the investigation report submission date in the case filed over the sensational murders of journalist couple Sagar Sarowar and Meherun Runi.

Dhaka metropolitan magistrate Debabrata Biswas fixed September 5 as the investigation officer of the case failed to submit the report on the scheduled date today.

A total of eight accused including the couple’s ‘family friend’ Tanveer Rahman were taken in remand. However, no one provided confessional statement. 

On February 11, 2012Sagar, news editor of private TV station Maasranga, and his wife Runi, senior reporter of ATN Bangla, were murdered at their rented flat in the capital's West Rajabazar.

The accused are- Enam Ahmed alias Humayun Kabir, Rafiqul Islam, Bokul Mia, Mintu alias Bagira Mintu alias Masum Mintu, Kamrul Hasan Orun, Polash Rudro Pal, and Abu Sayeed.
