'Saiful's associates staying around Panthapath'

Staff Correspondent: Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia said several associates of Saiful Islam, the militant who was killed in suicide blast at Panthapath, are staying around the spot. Law enforcers are trying to trace out them.

He came up with the statement while briefing media at DMP media centre in the capital on Wednesday noon.

DMP Commissioner said, "Saiful was a member of Neo JMB who joined the outfit recently. He was made prepare for suicide attack. Law enforcers are looking into the political backgrounds over him and his family."

Claiming that there is no possibility of massive terror attack in Bangladesh, Asaduzzaman Mia said, "Organizational capabilities of Neo JMB and Ansarullah Bangla Team have decreased. They have no ability to make any massive sabotage in the country."

He, however, said the members of the militant outfits may operate one/two separate incidents.
