Sayedee: Hearing on review petitions April 6

Staff Correspondent:  Hearing on the two review petitions filed regarding the verdict of war crimes convict Delwar Hossain Sayedee will be held on April 6.

Attorney General Mahbubey Alam said this to journalists on Monday.

Earlier, two review petitions filed regarding the verdict of war crimes convict Delwar Hossain Sayedee appeared on the Monday’s cause list of the Supreme Court’s Appellate Division.

Sayedee was given the death penalty on two counts of crimes against humanity in 2013 by the war crimes tribunal.Sayedee appealed against the death sentence in the Supreme Court and it was commuted to death until prison.

The Jamaat-e-Islami leader appealed against the tribunal verdict seeking acquittal while the state pleaded for sentence on the six other proven charges.
