Scrutinize Abbas’ nomination paper within 24hrs: SC

Staff Correspondent: The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court (SC) has asked the Chief Election Commissioner to finish scrutinizing the nomination paper of BNP leader Mirza Abbas within 24 hours of accepting it.

The bench of the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain passed the order on Thursday after disposing of the appeal petition filed by the state.

Advocate Joynal Abedin represented Mirza Abbas, while attorney general Mahbubey Alam represented the state.
