Shahidul taken back to DB custody

Staff Correspondent: Photographer Shahidul Alam has been taken back to the office of the Detective Branch (DB) of Police after medical check-up at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU).

He was taken back to DB custody around 2:00pm as medical board formed at BSMMU in line with High Court (HC) order found no major health issues that required admission into the hospital.

Earlier, Shahidul who was arrested in an ICT case was taken to BSMMU around 9:00am on Wednesday.

BSMMU Director Brigadier General Md Abdullah Al Harun confirmed the news.

The report of his health test will be submitted on Thursday, he added.

HC ordered the authority concerned to send Shahidul to BSMMU for treatment after a writ petition filed in this regard on Tuesday.

Earlier, a Dhaka court on Monday placed him in remand for seven days in the case after DB sought a 10-day remand.
