Shalwar with t-shirt banned in DU hall: probe body formed

Staff Correspondent: The authority at Dhaka University has formed a probe committee over a ban on women's shalwar with t-shirt in the varsity's Poet Sufia Kamal Hall.

Provost of the Hall Professor Dr. Sabita Rezwana Rahman said that following the issue, a probe committee was formed on Thursday.

She said, "The much talked notice is not issued by the dormitory authority. There is no signature of authority in the notice. So, we have formed a three member probe committee over the issue. This is very embarrassing."

Earlier, a notice at Dhaka University's Poet Sufia Kamal Hall went viral on Facebook.

A picture of the notice, which read, "Dressing up in salwar and t-shirt at any time inside the dormitory will be a punishable offence".
