Shantinagar building fire under control

Staff Correspondent: The fire that broke out at a shopping complex at Shantinagar area in the capital on Saturday afternoon has come under control.

Eleven firefighting units rushed to the spot and doused the flame around 6:00pm.

The firefighting units have brought the fire under control around 6:00pm. But the reason behind the fire could not be known immediately, said duty officer Ataur Rahman of the Fire Service and Civil Defense control room.

No casualties were reported in this connection, he added.

The fire originated at the third floor of Tropical Razia Tower around 4:54 pm.

Tropical Razia Tower is 16-storey building containing shopping complexes, banks and other important outlets.
