Sheikh Hasina in Time’s 100 most influential people list

Desk Report: Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been included in the Time Magazine’s list of 100 most influential people of 2018.

The US-based Time Magazine publishes the list every year. It published the list of 2018 on Thursday.

Time is a weekly news magazine published in the New York City. It was founded in 1923 and originally run by Henry Luce.

US President Donald Trump, French President Emmanuel Macron, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, North Korea Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un and Saudi Abaria Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman also made the list.

Besides, Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone, British royal family member Prince Harry and his would be wife Meghan Markle also secured rooms in the list.

Sheikh Hasina, the current president of the ruling Awami League, the party led the country’s Liberation War in 1971, also achieved different awards and honours earlier.

In November, She was featured in Forbes’ list of 100 most powerful women in 2017.

She also received UN's highest environmental accolade – Champions of the Earth – in recognition of Bangladesh's far-reaching initiatives to address climate change, ICT Sustainable Development Award" from the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and Women in Parliaments Global Forum (WIP) Award.
