Sheikh Selim’s grandson killed in Sri Lanka blasts

Secretariat Correspondent: Minor grandson of Awami League leader Sheikh Selim was among 290 people killed on Easter Sunday’s multiple blasts in Sri Lanka.

The body of Zayan, 8, will arrive in Dhaka tomorrow (Tuesday), said Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun.

Moshiul Haque Chowdhary Prince, son-in-law of Sheikh Selim, also was among hundreds of injured in the series of blasts at churches and hotels in and just outside Sri Lanka's capital.

Moshiul Haque Chowdhary Prince and Sheikh Amina Sultana Sonia, daughter of Sheikh Selim, along with their two sons were at a five-star hotel.

The son-in-law and Zayan Chowdhary went to ground of the hotel to take breakfast when a bomb exploded there.

The family went to Sri Lanka on a holiday tour.
