Shimulia-Kathalbari launch, speedboat services halted

Munshiganj Correspondent: The launch and speedboat services on the Shimulia-Kathalbari route have been suspended due to adverse weather since this morning.

The authorities of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) suspended the services around 9:30am to avert any untoward incident.

Shimulia Ghat Inspector Md Soleman said the service will be resumed when the weather condition improves.

The Ro-Ro ferry service is halted. However, 13 ferries were running in the river and moving very slowly taking more time than the normal time.

Over 200 vehicles remained stranded on the route due to the crisis.
