Siddique murder case handed over to DB

Staff Correspondent: Detective Branch (DB) of police has been assigned to investigate into the case filed over the murder of Siddique Hossain Munshi who was the owner of the MS Munshi Overseas manpower recruitment agency.

All relevant documents and information gleaned from the primary investigation of the case have been handed over to DB on Thursday noon, said Md Abdul Matin, Officer-in-Charge (investigation) of Banani Police Station.

The north division of DB will probe the case from now, he told journalists.

On November 14, a group of unidentified men fired several rounds of bullets after entering the Siddique's office at Block – B on Road – 4 near Banani graveyard in Dhaka around 7:30pm.

Doctors at United Hospital in Gulshan said that Siddique was brought dead with a bullet wound on his chest. Three employees were also bullet wounded in this connection and were admitted to the hospital.

Following the murder, Josna Begum, wife of the deceased, filed a murder case with Banani police station accusing four unknown people on November 15.
