Singer Shafin Ahmed to contest DNCC polls

Staff Correspondent: Shafin Ahmed, the lead vocalist and bassist of the widely popular rock band 'Miles', is going to contest the upcoming Dhaka North City Corporation mayoral by-polls.

He will join the DNCC polls as a mayoral candidate from Bobby Hajjaj's party Nationalist Democratic Movement (NDM).

Bobby Hajjaj formally announced his named through a press conference at National Press Club in the capital on Tuesday.

Shafin Ahmed is a high council member of NDM. Top leaders and activists of the party were present at the press conference.

On November 30, the DNCC mayor post fell vacant following the death of Annisul Huq. The by-polls for the post will be held in the last week of February 2018.
