Speaker leaves Dhaka for New York

Staff Correspondent: Jatiyo Sangsad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, MP, on Monday left Dhaka for New York at the invitation of the United Nation's Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP).

She will attend the 56th Session of the Commission on Social Development (CSD) and Panel Discussion on 'Global review of the outcome of the Third review and appraisal of the Madrid International Plan of Action on Ageing (MIPAA), 2002' to be held on January 30-31.

Senior secretary of Bangladesh Parliament Secretariat Dr MD Abdur Rab Hawlader and other senior officers were present to see-off the Speaker at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

The Speaker is expected to return home on February 6.
