Special security measures for Biswa Ijtema: IGP

Staff Correspondent: Inspector General of Police (IGP) AKM Shahidul Hoque said that special security measures will be taken with police and others combined forces ahead of Biswa Ijtema.

The IGP made the assertion while addressing a meeting at police headquarters in the capital on Tuesday.

He said, "Innumerable pilgrims from across the globe join in Biswa Ijtema. Police will take sufficient security measures to ensure overall safe and sound environment for the pilgrims."

"Police, detectives and others security organizations are jointly working to ensure security in Ijtema ground," he added.

AKM Shahidul Hoque also said that the traffic management department was asked to take necessary steps to make sure smooth movement of pilgrims and transports.

Moreover, there will be archways, close-circuit camera televisions (CCTVs) and watch towers to make the security foolproof.
