Sports Desk: Sri lanka reached 187 for 1 against Bangladeah on Day 2 of first Test at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium on Thursday.
The visiting side lost their opener Karunaratne with the score on duck.
Kusal Mendis and Dhananjaya De Silva are shared in 187 partnership with Dhananjaya doing the bulk of the scoring since he came onto the crease.
Dhananjaya scored 104 runs while Mendis bagged 83.

Earlier, Bangladesh dismissed their first innings at 513.
After a batting jolt losing three batsmen in the first session, skipper Mahmudullah scored an unbeaten half-century that helped Bangladesh to score past 500 runs post. The all-rounder scored remained unbeaten with 83 runs off 134 balls with seven boundaries and two over boundaries.
Overnight batsman Mominul Haque backed to the pavilion in the third over of the day adding only one run with his overnight score of 175. Then Bangladesh faced little trouble in quick-succession and slipped to 417 for 7.
However, Mahmudullah kept his nerve cool in the other end pairing with Sunzamul Islam and added a useful 58 runs for the 8th wicket stand to take the team to a comfortable position. Sunzamul was gone after scoring 24.
Earlier, on the day, Bangladesh lost three wickets in the first session as they went to lunch with 467 for 7.
Resuming the second day with overnight score at 374 for 4, Bangladesh lost overnight batsman Mominul Haque, who added only one run with his overnight score of 175. Mehidy Hasan also lasted for a little time after scoring 20 runs while Mosaddek Hossain added only 8 runs.
Suranga Lakmal and Rangana Herath were the pick of Sri Lankan bowlers with three wickets each conceding 68 and 150 runs respectively. They were well supported by Lakshan Sandakan who bagged two wickets giving away 92 runs.
