'Steps being taken to rebuild houses damaged by cyclone'

Staff Correspondent: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that steps are being taken to rebuild the houses of those damaged by cyclone ‘Mora’ and there would be no food crisis in the cyclone-affected areas. 

The premier made the disclosure while replying to a supplementary question from Awami League MP Mahbub Ul Alam Hanif (Kushtia-3) during her scheduled question-answer session in the national parliament on Wednesday.

Sheikh Hasina said that twelve Navy ships and two petrol aircrafts are working in worst affected areas – to carry out relief works. 

“Government’s quick response to evacuate people to the cyclone centre and others has reduced human loss due to the cyclone Mora,” she said.

She also said, ‘We’re making the list of the damaged houses for rebuilding those. We’re also providing food and cash to the cyclone affected people.’
