‘Stern action if women face harassment while travelling’

Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Nurul Islam BSc

Staff Correspondent: Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Nurul Islam BSc said that stringent action will be taken if any woman workers face harassment while going abroad.

The Minister made the assertion while addressing a workshop organized by Bangladeshi Ovhibashi Mohila Sramik Association (BOMSA) at Probashi Kalyan Bhaban, Eskaton in the capital on Wednesday.

He said, the women expatriates are sending remittance. Besides, their contribution is playing an important role on the context of economic empowerment of women.

The authority is working hard so that the remittances can be reached to their families without  cost, he added.

Bangladeshi Ovhibashi Mohila Sramik Association (BOMSA) director Sumaiya Islam presided over the program where Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Ministry secretary Begum Shamsun Nahar, Additional secretary Mohammad Azharul Haque and others attended.
