Staff Correspondent: Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda said that he still hopes Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) will participate the next general election.
CEC came up with the hope while replying to a query to the reporters at the Election Bhaban at the capital’s Agargaon on Thursday noon.
When asked about the atmosphere during the election, Nurul Huda said the environment of election is still fine and will also remain good.
Instructions were given to the authorities concern so that city polls are not questioned before the general election, he added.
In reply to another question, CEC said no extra measures need to be taken during three city-- Rajshahi, Sylhet and Barisal) polls as laws in this regard are not changed. Steps will be taken as per laws.
Earlier, a meeting was held with the law enforcement agencies over the elections to Rajshahi, Sylhet and Barisal city corporations which are scheduled to be held on July 30.
